Donna L. Wilson is a partner at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP. In her insurance recovery practice, Ms. Wilson focuses on assisting corporate and individual policyholders in pursuing their insurance coverage rights. Ms. Wilson has successfully assisted clients in a variety of coverage disputes, ranging from claims from individual directors and officers for defense costs, to claims for damage to property arising from natural and/or man-made disasters, to defense and liability costs for mass torts such as lead pigment and asbestos.
Ms. Wilson’s experience includes a number of significant insurance coverage cases, including obtaining reversal by the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit of an award issued by an arbitration panel in a billion dollar insurance coverage dispute, and successfully representing a Section 524(g) asbestos trust in a complex, multi-party state court action against the debtor’s insurers for over $100 million in coverage.
Ms. Wilson is a frequent speaker and author on insurance coverage issues. She is also Co-Chair of the Bankruptcy & Insolvency Subcommittee of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation, and Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Insurance Law Forum of the Women’s Bar Association of the District of Columbia.
